ABOUT US

Almogía Kennels has been operating for the past 3 years, founded and owned by Maureen and I.

In early 2005, after some months of investigations and discussions with the local Town Hall and architects department, permission was gained to go ahead with the project of building the kennels and cattery. In Spain licences to run any kind of business are not granted easily so you can imaging the undertakings we had to make to get a licence to run a animal care centre from our Finca home as planning applications are now being immediately refused in most rural (campo) areas. We employed an architect who had several meetings with the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries, and I had numerous meetings with the town hall. Eventually planning permission and work permission were granted.

We have built a solid customer base from local inhabitants and from as far away as Marbella and have an excellent reputation. Most of our new business is now gained by word of mouth. We have benefited greatly from television exposure on the programme “Living In The Sun” and an interview on “R.E.M. FM”, a popular radio station. One of the most prestigious veterinary clinics on the coast recommends our service and we have gained numerous clients from that source.
